GAL started as an internal tool at Scheduler Systems. We were heavy users of AI coding agents across our team, and we kept running into the same problem: every developer had a different agent setup, and there was no way to ensure consistency or compliance.
We built a simple tool to scan our repos and sync configurations. It worked so well that we realized every organization using AI agents would face the same challenge. That is when GAL became a product.
Everyone is building better AI coding agents. Nobody is building governance for them. We believe that as agents become more powerful, the organizations that can deploy them safely will move faster than those that cannot.
GAL is not about limiting what agents can do. It is about giving organizations the confidence to let agents do more. When you know that every agent in your org is running on an approved configuration, you can enable more powerful capabilities, grant more permissions, and trust agents with more autonomy.
